If you are ready to take the first step towards your new career; we will be with you every step of the way. When you decide to train with Just Pass School of Motoring you will be allocated a specialist driving instructor trainer. You will also have the full support of our office staff should you need it.

So what do I need to do?
To qualify as a driving instructor you will need to pass three tests.

Part 1: Multiple choice theory test and hazard perception test.

This is the first part of the qualifying process. It involves two parts. The first part is a computer based multiple choice theory test. You will be asked one hundred questions out of which you will have to answer eighty five or more correctly to pass.

The second part of the theory test is a hazard perception test. You will be shown fourteen video clips on a computer. The pass mark is fifty seven.

In order to pass part one you will need to attain the pass mark in both the theory test and hazard perception. Not gaining the pass mark in one of the test will result in failure of the part one test.
There is no limit to the amount of attempts you take.

We will provide you with all the study material required to pass this examination. Once you have read all the study material we will give you a mock test to see how you are progressing. We will then look at the questions that you got wrong (if any) and go through them with you. We will also train you on how to pass the hazard perception test.

Part 2: Driving ability test.

This is a test of your driving ability. You will be driving on different types of road whilst the examiner will be sitting in the passenger seat assessing your driving.

On this test you will be able to make up to six minor faults. If you get seven minor faults or even one serious or dangerous fault you will fail the part two test. You will have two more opportunities to retake the test. If however you fail the test three times you will not be able to take another attempt and will have to start from part one all over again.

As you have already been driving for a number of years; we won’t be teaching you how to drive all over again. Instead we will just look at your driving and polish up any weaknesses we find in your driving. We will also go over the driving test routes with you, giving you the best chance of passing.

Part 3: Instructional Ability Test.

This is a test of your teaching ability. On this test you will be the driving instructor and be seated in the passenger seat. The driving examiner will be sitting in the driving seat. This test is made up of two thirty minute tests. The examiner at the beginning of the test will tell you what subjects he wants you to teach him. You will teach the examiner the subject he has chosen.

This is probably the most challenging part of the qualifying process. To equip you with the skills needed to pass this final test you will be given forty hours of training by a driving instructor trainer. We will go through each of the ten preset tests with you. So whichever test the examiner asks you to teach him on the day; you will know exactly how to deliver the lesson.

Once you have completed the forty hours of training, we will sponsor you so that you can become a trainee driving instructor. This will allow you to gain valuable experience with real pupils on how to teach before you take the first attempt of your part three examination. It will also allow you to earn some money as well.

The whole course is conducted on a pay as you go basis. This makes it easier to afford. The whole course will be tailored to your needs so it can be done full time or part time around your current commitments.
